I Missed Adele’s Concert! (My 3 Wishes For Adele)

Hello… It’s Moy. Before I begin my rant, let me say thisI am a big — BIG — BIIIIIIIIIG Adele fan (aka DayDreamer)

Adele is my favorite artist in the History of Music.

For the record, I love many musicians. However, no one’s music has saved my soul as much as hers.

But for you to understand why I love her so much and why I have a list of demands — we need to press rewind; to when I was young — or should I say When We Were Young?

Oh yes, there are going to be many puns. So, go Easy On Me.

Time swirl

In 2008, Adele performed two songs on SNL. I was eight years old at the time, and I mostly watched Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon. However, I’m pretty certain I saw this performance because “Chasing Pavements” and “Cold Shoulders” are my favorite songs on her album 19.

Fast forward to 2011 — I most definitely heard her album 21. To say it was good would be an understatement. I fondly remember hearing this album during the family reunion we had that year. I vividly remember my little cousin passionately singing, “set fire in the rain.” I calmly said, “No, no, no. It’s Set Fire To The Rain; now take it from the to! (And he did)

Jump to 2015, and she did it again! Her album 25 was another global hit. At this stage of life, my relative had gotten out of a bad relationship, and I remember her blasting the song “Send My Love (to your new lover).” I never saw her so happy; that joy comes back to me every time I hear this song.

Earlier this year, the Late Late Show With James Corden aired (this was my favorite show for several years). I enjoyed it so much, and I loved many of the segments. But my favorite segment was Carpool Karaoke. (It gave a rare opportunity for artists to showcase their singing skills while answering profound/fun questions.) My favorite, of course, was Adele’s!

As someone who doesn’t keep up with celebrity news, this was my first insight into her personality/life, and it made me like her even more. And I’m not alone in this feeling because her Carpool Karaoke is still the most watched EVER.

(I also enjoy the last one, if the show was still on Aire, it would have way more views)

Moving onto 2019, this was the most turbulent period of my life. Countless dreams of mine were dying, and I had no direction. I was grappling with intense emotions that I never experienced before. But, I found solace in all of her albums because she perfectly articulated how I felt.

On her album 19, there are nine songs out of twelve that I absolutely love. On her album 21, there are ten songs out of twelve that I extremely love . And on her album 25, there are ten out of eleven songs that I immensely love. Needless to say, I enjoy pretty much her entire catalog.

In 2020, she graced us with her presence on SNL again. The only disappointing part was hearing that the album wasn’t ready yet. But Adele has proven she knows what she’s doing, so I was willing to wait.

In 2021, she released “Adele One Night Only”. I was so excited to hear her sing and get an update on her life. And I’m thankful she took a moment to address the rumors because people say crazy things.

However, she has the greatest fanbase in the history of humanity. We respect her privacy and we’re always PATIENT for the next album. And think about this:

What other artist can go years without releasing new music and still be well-received?

What other artist can avoid doing features and still be a global phenomenon?

Or, can go viral from mere facial expressions?

(I can’t think of anyone else.)

Additionally, Adele only has four albums; she is the epitome of quality over quantity. She puts so much emotion into every word, line, song and album. And according to Spotify, she is in the top 30 artists in the world.

To me, this is still unacceptable; she needs to be in the Top 10. And I’m on a mission to share two things in my lifetime. First: The Gospel of JESUS. Second: ADELE! But of them will get you through hard times. And they both drink wine!

(Alright Eric, take us to church)

Let me get back on track, her album 30 was released just a few days after “One Night Only. I remember staying up late and waiting for it to appear on Spotify. Usually, I don’t seek out new music; I let it find me. Typically, it happens in the store, on the car radio, in a movie, etc. But with Adele, I knew I would love the album. And Oh My God! I LOVE all twelve songs on the album.

So, when I heard she was doing a residency in Las Vegas, I knew I needed to go to her concert at all costs!

However, my life in 2022 had me in a stronghold. I thought I was going to break away, but I was wrong. Then, 2023 came along, and I hoped to make in that year; but nope. And this year I was determined to make it, but once again, I couldn’t. Over and over, I was severely dismayed. The reasons why I couldn’t attend are vast. (I touch on my spiritual journey in other posts.)

Nonetheless, I chose to Hold On.

How did I cope? By listening to Adele’s music of course.

And to make matters worse — they created an entire ADELE WORLD IN MUNICH! My heart couldn’t take all that pain. A place where Adele songs and albums come to life AND you’re surrounded by fans who share the same love.

(Sigh) I took a break from the internet when I discovered this. Nonetheless, I’m grateful for all the fans who got to show their love and support. Good-hearted people like Adele should be celebrated more.

Because in this world, people glorify those who give the Cold Shoulder. That is, until they get burned. Then, they’re disheartened that they got treated cruelly.

When it comes to Adele, I hear people often complimenting her heart and personality. At the same time, I adore the fact that she’s not afraid to speak her mind. I laughed so hard at her threat towards anyone who dared to throw things at her.

It’s about time someone said it!

I can’t believe people think it’s okay to throw an object at an artist while they’re performing. The majority of the time, the objects aren’t soft; they’re hard enough to do damage. Artists should tell their fans to stop, just as Adele did. Or, tell the fans to wait until the show is over, and then the artist can step back and check out what was thrown. Personally, I would never act so uncivilized.

But anyway…

Here Are My 3 Wishes For Adele:

Two people sitting in front of t.v

1. The concert sent to Theatres, Disney+, or on DVD. (preferably all of the above) With the amount of fans she has, it would do so well! Especially if she gives behind-the-scenes footage of the entire process from beginning to end. Please Can I Get?

Christmas record2. A Christmas Album – I’d love to hear Adele sing about her Christmas memories before fame and after. It would be cool to know what Christmas was like after the release of 19, 21, 25, and 30. Beyond this, it could have a classical sound like Frank Sinatra, Donny Hathaway, Whitney Houston, Christmas songs. If anyone could make a Christmas song that stands the test of time, it’s Adele. Possible features: Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars.

MErch rack3. If not new music, then merch – When I couldn’t go to the first round of concerts, I looked to buy merch instead. And I found next to nothing! Heaven only knows when we will get another album; it could be in four, five, or seven years! So give me a memory I can use!

All Jokes Aside…

Adele has given enough to her fans, society, and the world. I guarantee you; someone was listening to Adele’s music an hour ago, and they’re broken heart is fixed…

THAT SOMEONE WAS ME! LOL!

Also, out of her entire career, this is the longest we’ve ever seen her! She has been spoiling us. And for that, I am thankful.

As an outsider looking in, I can only imagine how stressful fame can be. Hopefully, celebrities will soon get legislation passed so they can be treated like humans, not aliens. For some odd reason, strangers think they can demand whatever they want from celebrities.

Ugh! The nerve of such people!

I know, I know. I just listed demands of my own. But — just ’cause I said it, don’t mean that I meant it.  (I did!)

Kidding kidding. One of the things I love about Adele is that she does what’s best for her career and those in her circle. She doesn’t let anyone peer pressure her because she knows she can make hits and fill arena’s all by her self — while sitting down. ICON! Honestly, I believe she is anointed, I mean, she has a soulful voice and has made her own space in the music industry while everyone else fights to be at the top. I think we can all agree she is our gift from above.

And one last thing, I created Adele Merch A Million Years Ago, but never released it. I’m not a lawyer but, I know enough about legal rights. (Also, I created a marketing strategy that would be fitting to Adele’s brand. Plus, a brand name that would stand out.) But if I end up working with her, maybe it will see the light of day? A boy can dream.

All in all, I’m happy that she has a great life to return too, only happy tears from here. Us Daydreamer’s will get updates on the next album.

And we look forward to her singing from a joyful place.

Who knows maybe we’ll get more dance songs? Because her concerts are not a seated show.

Until then…

I’ll Be Waiting,

Moy Omar
