The Holy Bible teaches us that God designed all of creation to be unique. Therefore our story will not match each others to a T. Nor will every sermon resonate. In fact, when I was young, I remember leaving Church sometimes feeling discouraged because the sermon didn’t provide clarity on my situation.
And that’s part of the reason God had me leave the Church. I needed more personalized guidance in my life. When I took that leap of faith, I found extraordinary revelations/realizations, that helped me understand what I was going through. In time, I grew more comfortable reading the Holy Bible and was given multiple scriptures that kept me grounded.
Here are my 10 Favorite Bible Passages:
10) Genesis 39:2-3
“The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.”
9) Deuteronomy 28:7
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”
8) Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
7) Joshua 4:14
“On that day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.”
6) 2 Samuel 23:3-4
“The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, By clear shining after rain.”
5) Psalms 89:21-24
“With whom my hand shall be established; Also my arm shall strengthen him.
The enemy shall not outwit him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
I will beat down his foes before his face, And plague those who hate him.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him, And in my name his horn shall be exalted.”
4) Psalms 91:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
3) Saint John 14:26-27
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
2) 2 Corinthians 12:9
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
1) Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
These are the passages from the Holy Bible that I was led to share. At times it may seem like the Holy Bible is outdated, but we must remember, God spoke promises over our life before we were even born. So there are things God spoke to one prophet, but He also had you in mind. He knew one day you’d read the word He decreed centuries ago.
If I can offer any advice, seek Holy Trinity to understand what They promised over your life. Many people quote scriptures that sound good, but it may not be for them, which is why the promise doesn’t come to pass. Trust me, that’s a sad place to be. I’ve often thought a promise was for me, but lo and behold, it wasn’t. Or, it was for me, but not in that particular season. So we must be discerning and take things back to God when we are uncertain. If you want to read about my spiritual journey, you’re welcome to do so!
