When I was a toddler, I kept my parents on their toes. I was hyper and I hated taking naps. I would act like I was asleep long enough until my parents went to bed. When they were asleep, I had a taste of freedom. I was very curious and adventurous. I’ve been told that I once moved the dining room chair up against the counter; to get candy out of a glass jar. And I snooped around our house so much that my parent had to babyproof EVERYTHING.

But at some point, that adventurous and curious energy went away. Certainly, I was given rules on what is acceptable and what isn’t, just as all kids do. But that core aspect of my being was caged. This bled into other areas of my life. Instead of exploring the roads less traveled, I settled for the practical.

When I went to college, all I could imagine myself doing in the future was having a standard 9 to 5. But, after my first semester of college, I thought of my first business idea. By the summer of 2019, I suddenly regained that curious and adventurous spirit. And it forever changed my life.

As the years went by, I explored my every interest and studied multiple fields. I gave zero thought to gatekeepers. I saw candy and I was determined to get it.

However, I learned that instant gratification was impossible on this path. There is no guarantee of a paycheck within a week or two; making a profit can take months or even years. Additionally, these types of industries require an air of secrecy. Exposing details too early could ruin the momentum.

And to make things more challenging, I never had the help I wanted or needed. Every single one of my past projects were done independently.

Honestly, it was flat-out miserable some days. However, it led me to acquire important skills and it pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Anyway, today, I’m going to do something I’ve never done. I am sharing some of the past projects I’ve worked on. None of these were for any company, so I have full legal right to share them.

It’s bittersweet because I had high hopes for each, but things didn’t pan out desirably. Luckily, losses turned to lessons.

Alright, without further ado, here are some of my past projects!

Websites

In early 2019, I created my blog called “OmarsMind.” I watched tutorials, read articles and I built it little by little. I was very happy with the finished product but, running a website was more expensive than I originally imagined and it met its end.

However, all the lessons I learned from building that website, helped me to create this one in less than two weeks. At one point, I encountered a major problem that made me question everything. But thankfully, I kept calm and figured out a solution. I practically had to start all over, but it worked out in my favor because I found the exact features I wanted by going in this new direction.

App

In the summer of 2019, I spent two months building an app. I was so proud of myself. Until I realized the service I was using offered limiting features. Meaning the app would be great in the early days but, if I wanted to upgrade it would’ve been impossible. This forced me to scrap the project and move on.

Logos

My early logos were overly artistic and bulky. In time, I got better at making them modern and light. The two you see on my website, the one with my full name and my initials were made by me. And those only took a few hours. I sketched it on a piece of paper and then brought it to life.

Merch

I have been designing merch since I was in High School. In my senior year, my t-shirt design won and my teacher ordered them for the class. I also designed my own Senior Jacket to separate myself from the crowd. Interestingly, I started making more merch designs when I noticed many artists/influencers have merch that’s very bland. Some do just a picture or one word in a small font. So, I made designs that range from mildly artistic to bold.

Creative writing projects

My latest writing project is a sequel to The Princess and the Frog. That movie is one of my favorites. I am surprised Disney has never made a sequel or a mini-series yet. I drafted the film treatment way back in July. Years ago, I also created a film treatment for a Twitches sequel.

The latest movie idea is a new trilogy for the Back To The Future series. It’s not a reboot but, a continuation.

Business plans and PowerPoints

For business ideas that wouldn’t require too much to launch, I created business plans for them. The only thing that’s missing is receiving the funding needed. Initially, I was looking for a private equity investor. But, I may reconsider and go a different path. One business is for a service and another is for a physical product.

Alright, that concludes this post. These are just a few past projects I can share, the others will be released in the near future.

Thanks for reading!

In my next post, I will share my new goals for 2025.
